Never give up; you never know until you try.
I've had several examples recently of how careless words can stir up anger and/or resentment and put up walls between people. Often, we don't mean any harm, but the damage is done.
Moral: THINK!!! Think before you speak, and when you blurt something out in a moment of surprise, anger, fatigue, delight, whatever: APOLOGIZE!!!
Chances are, you and the offended party will share a chuckle.
This is to encourage people to dare to dream, because you never know until you try; to face adversity, which we all face in one form or another, and keep on keepin' on; to do what they can and allow God to do what they can't.
The Serenity Prayer
This prayer, often repeated, is an originally untitled prayer by theologian Reinhold Niebuhr. It makes great sense to me, and whether you believe in God or not, I think it's a smart idea.
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference
